AISnips ("we", "us") is built with privacy in mind. We collect only the data needed to run the Site and your account, and we never sell your personal information. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
Account information — When you create an account you provide an email address and password, or sign in with Google. Authentication is handled by Google Firebase Authentication; we never see or store your password. If you sign in with Google, Google shares your email address and basic profile information (such as your name) with us.
Content you create — When signed in, we store the prompts you save, favourite, and organise into collections, along with any custom prompts or notes you create. This lets your library sync across your devices.
Pro & payment information — When you purchase Pro access, your payment is processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store your card number, CVC, or billing address. We do store a record that your account is Pro, the date it was granted, and your Stripe customer ID so we can link your purchase to your account. To process checkout we share your account email and a Firebase user ID with Stripe.
Communications — If you purchase Pro we send a confirmation email. If you contact us by email, we keep that correspondence to respond to you.
Analytics data — We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors use the Site: pages visited, session duration, device type, and approximate geographic location. This data is aggregated and not used to identify you personally. You can opt out using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Account data (your email, Pro status, saved prompts, favourites, and collections) is stored in Google Cloud Firestore as part of our Firebase project. A copy is also cached in your browser's localStorage so the Site loads quickly and works between sessions. If you use the Site without signing in, that information stays only in your browser and is not sent to our servers.
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose not listed above, and we do not sell it.
We share data only with the service providers that make the Site work:
Google Analytics sets cookies to distinguish visitors and measure sessions. Stripe may set cookies during checkout. Firebase Authentication stores sign-in tokens in your browser's local storage to keep you logged in. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies of our own.
The Site links to third-party AI tools and resources. Some of these may be affiliate links, meaning we may earn a commission if you sign up or purchase through them, at no additional cost to you. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of sites we link to — their own policies apply.
We keep your account data for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, we delete your account data from Firestore. Payment records are retained by Stripe in line with their policies and financial regulations. Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months by default. Cached data in your browser is removed when you clear your browser data.
Depending on your location (including under the GDPR and CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the personal data we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights — including deleting your account and associated data — email us at hello@aisnips.org and we will action your request. You can also clear locally stored data at any time by clearing your browser's site data.
Authentication, account data, and payments are handled by established providers (Google Firebase and Stripe) using industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest. No system is perfectly secure, but we rely on these providers' protections and limit the data we collect.
Our providers (Google, Stripe, Netlify) may process and store data on servers located in the United States and other countries. By using the Site you understand your data may be transferred to and processed in these locations.
AISnips is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top reflects when it was last revised. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
